El éxito que tuvieron fue nulo, excepto por una canción que adquiría cada vez más popularidad en la radio: "The sound of silence". El productor Tom Wilson comprendió que los medios habían dejado de buscar folk, y aprendió de los Byrds y de Dylan a transformarlo en rock, entonces agregó al tema una base eléctrica tocada por la banda de estudio de Bob Dylan y lanzó la nueva versión como single.<br />Inmediatamente el hit ingresó en el Top 40 y esto motivó a Simon y Garfunkel a grabar este nuevo disco e incluír en él su gran éxito. Y de paso, por las dudas, ponerle al álbum el mismo nombre.<br /><br /></span></div><span style="color: rgb(51, 153, 153); font-family: trebuchet ms;font-family:trebuchet ms;font-size:85%;" ></span><ol style="color: rgb(51, 153, 153);"><li style="color: rgb(51, 153, 153); font-family: trebuchet ms;font-family:trebuchet ms;"><span style="font-size:85%;">The sound of silence</span></li><li style="color: rgb(51, 153, 153); font-family: trebuchet ms;font-family:trebuchet ms;"><span style="font-size:85%;">Leaves that are green</span></li><li style="color: rgb(51, 153, 153); font-family: trebuchet ms;font-family:trebuchet ms;"><span style="font-size:85%;">Blessed</span></li><li style="color: rgb(51, 153, 153); font-family: trebuchet ms;font-family:trebuchet ms;"><span style="font-size:85%;">Kathy's song</span></li><li style="color: rgb(51, 153, 153); font-family: trebuchet ms;font-family:trebuchet ms;"><span style="font-size:85%;">Somewhere they can't find me</span></li><li style="color: rgb(51, 153, 153); font-family: trebuchet ms;font-family:trebuchet ms;"><span style="font-size:85%;">Anji</span></li><li style="color: rgb(51, 153, 153); font-family: trebuchet ms;font-family:trebuchet ms;"><span style="font-size:85%;">Richard Cory</span></li><li style="color: rgb(51, 153, 153); font-family: trebuchet ms;font-family:trebuchet ms;"><span style="font-size:85%;">A most peculiar man</span></li><li style="color: rgb(51, 153, 153); font-family: trebuchet ms;font-family:trebuchet ms;"><span style="font-size:85%;">April come she will</span></li><li style="color: rgb(51, 153, 153); font-family: trebuchet ms;font-family:trebuchet ms;"><span style="font-size:85%;">We've got a groovy thing goin'</span></li><li style="color: rgb(51, 153, 153);font-family:trebuchet ms;"><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-family: trebuchet ms;">I am a rock</span><br /></span></li></ol>Juan Iruruetahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12168197678894841275noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5466764967792437290.post-43659305071473732192009-03-04T12:39:00.004-02:002009-03-05T21:15:33.281-02:00The Beatles - Rubber Soul (1965)<div align="justify"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://rapidshare.com/files/203823875/Rubbersoul.rar"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5309342897205426418" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: pointer; HEIGHT: 200px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguuhAi6YUPFzWdvf14Mo_YwXTxAGV8Xd9FOZ8ALppKIv4ASJll86NJeA1wDn1pa0DJ2QJ9upx1k9X-bgNyCWOWfsj7SZvwCBR7OHw8bAwR_1X09ZuPw88_C1NQPYtaMB9p0Osb2VPNoys/s200/TAPA+Rubber+Soul.jpg" border="0" /></a><span style="COLOR: rgb(204,102,0);font-size:85%;" ><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><span style="COLOR: rgb(204,102,0);font-family:trebuchet ms;" >Los Beatles estaban mejorando técnica y musicalmente. La razón de esta excepción radica simplemente en que esta canción es la madre de todas las excepciones del rock.</span></span><br /><br /><span style="COLOR: rgb(102,102,102);font-size:85%;" ><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">Like a Rolling Stone desconfiguró la forma de componer canciones, hubo que empezar de nuevo. Sus seis minutos y nueve segundos de duración la convirtieron en el single más largo que existió hasta la época, lo cual significó un gran reto para las discográficas y los medios radiales, y por lo tanto una revuelta comercial. Los Beatles tuvieron que tirar a la basura todas las próximas "I want to hold your hand" y "Can't buy me love" que tenían en la manga y se pusieron a pensar en letras más profundas y estructuras musicales más rebuscadas. El rock & roll había evolucionado. Otra vez.</span></span><br /><br /><span style="COLOR: rgb(102,102,102);font-size:85%;" ><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">La canción habla de la independencia individual. En un tono vengativo, enojado (dijo Lennon: "Para entender a Dylan, no hay que poner atención en lo que dice, sino en cómo lo dice"), Bob le escupe las verdades del mundo real a alguien que supuestamente solía vivir en la abundancia y que de repente se quedó sin nada y debe enfrentarse a las adversidades de la vida cotidiana. Pero detrás de esta furia acusadora puede encontrarse un sentido introspectivo, más motivador, que también habla de la libertad de uno al despojarse de todas sus ataduras.</span></span><br /><span style="COLOR: rgb(102,102,102);font-size:85%;" ><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"><a href="http://www.bobdylan.com/#/songs/rolling-stone">Like a Rolling Stone</a> representa en todo sentido, en su contexto histórico y dentro de sí misma, una revolución.</span></span><br /></div><br /><br /><br /><div style="TEXT-ALIGN: right"><span style="COLOR: rgb(102,102,102); FONT-STYLE: italicfont-size:85%;" ><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">"When you ain't got nothing,</span><br /><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">you got nothing to lose."</span></span><br /></div>Juan Iruruetahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12168197678894841275noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5466764967792437290.post-21941368503647853672009-02-13T03:44:00.008-02:002009-03-05T21:09:53.153-02:00The Animals - The Animals (US) (1964)<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://rapidshare.com/files/197477267/Theanimals.rar"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5302153963801635810" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: pointer; HEIGHT: 199px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-IpPfGn-EWGsajSZ4nwMjWC9v17S6yU9XJAt2SAdnHQsmwt8-MXhq5XWz1QV8hnbRykYVmgxTWQRoGxm2GwIw6gJATQlJOz2AGYbxebVaoyofsQMoQsc0C0cASgh4-ji1rqSV_9vGO_M/s200/Animales.jpg" border="0" /></a><span style="COLOR: rgb(204,0,0);font-size:85%;" ><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"><br /></span></span><div style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><span style="COLOR: rgb(204,0,0);font-size:85%;" ><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">Lo que en parte desató el fenómeno de la invasión británica en Estados Unidos fue un conjunto de hechos que provocaron un "congelamiento" en el Rock: </span></span><br /><span style="COLOR: rgb(204,0,0);font-size:85%;" ><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">- Elvis debió partir a Alemania en 1958 a cumplir con el servicio militar.
